The I Statement

What are you willing to lose?

Lately, I’ve learned the art of choosing new habits.

I have legit learned to observe my own habits and rechoose them to match the goals I want to achieve.

So what are my goals?

  • Grow my own personal brand and start doing astrology consults.

  • Foster great health.

  • Cultivate fulfillment and creativity in my life.

For the past 4 weeks I have:

  • Woken up 1 hour earlier than usual to engage on “X” formerly known as the Twitters.

  • I have adopted every second I could to really sit down and learn astrology.

  • I have worked out every other morning.

  • I’ve created the time to make all my meals at home.

  • I have been purposefully listening to podcasts that will enrich my solopreneur journey daily.

And in doing this, I realized a few things.

I had to choose what I was willing to lose in this whole process of choosing new habits.

I chose:

  • Less time for other forms of social media.

  • Less time watching Netflix.

  • Going to sleep early to wake up earlier.

  • To lose the convenience of eating out.

  • To use my “rest” time to challenge myself at learning something new.

But the good news is, I feel like these things that I lost weren’t in line with “me” anyways, at least as I am discovering who “Me” is.

My new habits reflect the bitch I want to become.

So, let’s flip this onto you:

In taking a survey at your life, do you have any habits that DON’T reflect the person you want to become?

Forget the you now, who do you want to work towards being instead?

What are you willing to let go about your routines and daily life?

Shit, you don’t even need to change a lot if you ask me: What can remove 80% of your problems if you start doing it consistently?

If you want to direct your future towards a certain goal or identity, it will require sacrifice. Unfortunately, you need to feed lady luck sometimes for her to bless you with some miracles.

No place worth going is going to be easy to get to if you haven’t been there before.

Why is this even important and why do you read this everywhere?

Honestly, EVERY personal development guru talks about habits…Because the research is tried and true: We become what we repeatedly do.

Results are not obtained over night, friends: they’re EARNED.

Let me be the first to tell you, you HAVE to create a future that you LOVE in order to successfully reset your daily routine for it.

It might take some time to really figure out the thing(s) that you love enough to do that. It’s taken me the last 5 years to figure it out! Maybe that explains why I haven’t gotten to where I’ve wanted to get in the last 5 years: I didn’t know what I wanted, so I didn’t advance towards anything!

Your habits are literally what advance you towards the thing you want.

With new habits, I feel free-er believe it or not, even if my new habits are harder to do.

I feel stronger, more empowered, and more in balance.

And all these feelings resonate closer to the person I want to become.

So take a look at your own daily routine and ask yourself “what are you willing to lose?”
